How much water does an newly planted Pin Oak tree need?

The Oak is about 5 feet tall and was planted a few weeks ago. We water it daily, but I am not sure we are giving it enough water at one given time.

With any new planting you just need to be careful to not let the tree dry out. With moderate temperatures, watering every couple of days should be fine. During a heat wave, definitely water every day. A 5' tree likely needs only a few gallons a day.

Spreading mulch under your newly planted pin oak will reduce the amount of watering as the mulch helps insulate the soil reducing water evaporation.
